THE FUTURE – a tale about fashion, style and the struggle for the new
Saturday, July 17th, 2010
I’ve posted a preview some time ago, now it’s officially out: MOCK magazine Vol. #1 featuring a futuristic fashion-photo-comic-editorial that we’ve shot last winter for Schön! magazine’s THE FUTURE competition which brought me the “Aspiring Talents” representation by SPECTACULAR STUDIOS (Stockholm, New York & London).

Inspirations:
For this project we decided to mix media, combining studio photographs with black&white illustration. We wanted to create a not so far future between science-fiction and noir comics.
Inspirations for the city were certainly cult movies like Brazil, Blade Runner and the 5th Element and we had to think of Frank Miller and Roy Liechtenstein a lot!
The background was illustrated mixing hand-drawing, 3D and 2D graphics.
Our heroine should stay above the trend, we wanted her to be zen, futuristic and classy at once. Therefore the choice of the colours black, white and red. She should be determined like Star Wars’ Princess Leya, but also pure like the Childlike Empress in the Neverending Story.
The billboards in the city should reflect a technologic culture with a strictly coded style, so we opted for static poses and geometrical, stiff clothing. Suburbia should represent a contrast to this well-organized and mannered world. We chose metal and fur as the two main styling themes for the underground first to convey an aggressive attitude, either sharp or wild, but also to remind of recyclable materials in a world where resources are limited. (All fur used is recycled fur!)
For the beauty part, we wanted to emphasize hair as a distinguishing feature, using extensions or hats to blow up head proportions. (For there is a lot of brain work about fashion.)
We didn’t want to make a steady statement about the future of fashion. That’s why in the end we left the question open to anyone’s creativity. We hope the viewers will enjoy our little story and be inspired to an answer of their own.
Singified!
Saturday, June 19th, 2010Getting back to normality (i.e. crazy fashion pictures instead of endless blah blah) with this respectable gentleman who will be on the cover of my 2010 print & online portfolio.
Listening to Florence & The Machine (“a kiss with a fist is better than none”), watching Steven Klein’s new Lady Gaga Video and preparing to go out for a drink with good friends.

Casting für eine Modestrecke
Thursday, May 20th, 2010!!!
!!! BE A COVERMODEL !!!
Juni 2010. Besten Dank an die Designer / Verfasser!
In my current hands-on course at the University of Augsburg I’m planning a fashion editorial for UNIQUEEN and UNIKING with my students. There will be a casting this June, the photos will be shot in july and published in november. All clothes will be provided by kafka&tecleab.

“Rock Chic” – Fashion Editorial Shoot Behind-the-Scenes
Wednesday, April 7th, 2010
Full house on Easter Monday! 8 people, 1 dog, a ton of clothes and accessoires & a huge table covered with make-up stuff – best premises for our fashion editorial shooting! Theme was “Rock Chic(k)”, since this is pretty beyond any season we could combine lots of A/W 2010 clothes and some cool S/S 2010 stuff, plus some stylish vintage pieces and one of a kind designs by stylist Lorand Lajos. We came up with 15(!) outfits in the end, so there’s a lot to select and edit now. After all the highly planned jobs lately, it was great to go for some clear & minimalistic style, focusing on fashion and attitude with a plain white studio wall as background. Thanks to all people involved who helped turning a rather spontaneous shoot into something huge. I’ll submit the whole story to a couple of good magazines asap. But here is a little behind-the-scenes preview.
Absolutely gorgeous (not only!) in front of the lens: Maria, Valerie & Jana
Styling: Lorand Lajos & Chiara Padovan
Make-up & Hair: Maren Endraß
Maren’s Assistant: Tina Greifenegger
Photography: Thomas Sing
Making-of shot by Chiara (she also did some behind-the-scenes filming, but I haven’t seen this yet… )

Moi, shooting with my fav Nikon (D3x) and a Broncolor Para FB 220 with ringflash & Scoro A4s generator. I am not getting paid for saying this: I’m working with Bron for 3 years now and can assure you that it is not only best lighting equipment regarding quality, but also the most reliable that I ever used: I have some old lamp-heads that have reached a couple of 100.000’s of flashes and still work like new ones.
