I just came back from Mainz where I had a big shoot at the Staatstheater for my friend Stephen Delattre yesterday – he’s not only an amazingly talented dancer, but also an outstanding choreographer. His new program “Poetry Takes Form” will be put on stage next march in Mainz – and I strongly recommend all of my readers to watch it; from what I’ve seen during our shoot, Stephen’s show will be a poetical, sophisticated and so entertaining ballett experience.
Of course I can’t show too much of the actual choreography here, so I’ve selected a few snapshots that show that our 12-hrs photoshoot was not only hard work (you have approximately a one-hundredth second to catch just the perfect pose of a speedy ballett figure), but also huge fun!
Dancers: Cristina Ayllón, Antonin Comestaz, Stéphen Delattre, Martyn Garside, Anne Jung, Prêle Mainfroy

Checking the pictures…

Beware of the masked folks!

That’s the way dancers are relaxing during a break…

… and that’s the way photographers are shooting during a break!

And frankly said, the iPhone doesn’t cause you a tennis ellbow… the 70-200 tele lens CAN after heavy (ab-)use!
